A licensed local guide leads from Sapa Stone Church through Suoi Ho hamlet into Ma Tra — shorter and closer to town than the Lao Chai–Ta Van valley routes.
Expect about 4–4.5 km and roughly 2 hours 45 minutes of walking, plus photo and craft stops. Terrain is mostly rural concrete and packed village paths with gentle slopes — downhill from town at the start, a few short uphill sections across terraces and after a small iron bridge. When household schedules allow, you visit a Black H'mong home for hemp weaving and indigo dyeing notes; craft stops are seasonal and honest if a family is busy with harvest.
The walk finishes at a valley-view café. Meals are not included. Return to Sapa is optional and paid separately to the driver if you do not want the uphill walk back. Best months for firm paths are roughly September–April; May–August is greener and wetter — bring grip shoes and a rain shell.

End of the Tour – Return to Sapa Town Center
Return transport is optional and separate from the walk price. Walking back is mostly uphill and can feel harder than the outbound route. Tell your guide at the Stone Church if you want a vehicle arranged so timing can be coordinated. The walk ends at a valley-view café where you can rest before returning.
