SapaTreks Editorial TeamReviewed by Sung, Guide, valley treks & homestays since 20143 min read

Sapa trekking tours run from $25 per person for a half-day valley walk up to $95 per person for a 2-day homestay trek, with an English-speaking guide included in every price and no online deposit required. This guide lays out what our team charges, which valleys each route covers, and exactly how booking works — no forms, just a short email conversation.

Main trekking routes we run

Most visitors start in Muong Hoa Valley — the corridor of rice terraces below Sapa town, in Lao Cai province (Vietnam National Tourism — Sapa). Our Half-Day Easy Trek follows Lao Chai and Ta Van at a gentle pace. The Classic Full-Day Valley Trek goes deeper into the same valley with more trail time and viewpoints — see our half-day vs full-day comparison if you're deciding between them.

For an overnight, the 2-Day Homestay Trek adds Giang Ta Chai, a Red Dao village, and a family stay — read what that night actually looks like. Summit seekers book the Fansipan Trek separately; it's a different kind of challenge, compared here.

Published starting prices (2026)

Prices on our tour pages are starting rates for groups of two or more:

  • Half-day valley trek — from $25/person
  • Full-day valley trek — from $55/person
  • 2-day / 1-night homestay trek — from $95/person
  • Fansipan 2D1N — confirmed by email, priced by season and group size

What the price usually includes

Every paid trek includes an English-speaking local guide and the route described on the tour page. Homestay treks add meals, village fees, and return transport on day two. What is not included: travel insurance, tips, drinks beyond water where noted, and your hotel in Sapa town before or after the trek.

Intro walks (Sapa Town Walk and Countryside Walk) are tip-based — no upfront fee, no minimum group size.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to pay a deposit online?
No. We confirm by email, and payment method and timing are agreed in your confirmation — there is no booking form or card payment on the website.
Which trek is best if I only have one day?
The full-day valley trek covers the classic Muong Hoa scenery in more depth. If you'd rather finish by early afternoon, the half-day trek visits the same villages at a lighter pace.
Are prices per person or per group?
Listed prices are per person, based on a minimum of two guests, unless we've quoted a separate solo rate by email.
Can I combine two treks in one trip?
Yes — many guests pair a half-day or full-day trek with the 2-day homestay trek later in their stay. Mention both when you book so we can avoid repeating villages.
